The RVer profiled in this TV news segment from Portland, Oregon put his fifth wheel trailer on consignment with with a local RV dealer. After the time limit of the consignment agreement expired, the RVer called to learn the status of his RV. To his surprise, the RV was gone, and nobody knew where. And even worse, his RV insurance policy, like others, excludes coverage when an RV is for sale on consignment.
I had an rv repo'ed when on consignment, the dealer had promised to make the monthly payment and subtract from final sale price, I am still in debt/ bad credit because of it.
ReplyDeleteInsurance companies usually stay away from consignment issues.
